course

Another day of disc golf at a new (to me) course. The course is located off of Well Branch Boulevard and IH-35 and is only 9 holes in length. So we played it twice. There was good news and bad news for the day.

The bad news was that the water traps were particulary ferocious! And what was surprising was that the river was tiny and shallow! And yet it must have swallowed ten of our discs. Mike had the worst luck of us all. He had bought a new disc and
practiced with it a little bit and found that he liked it. But on the first hole of the course, he threw it into the water. And at that moment, a pump up the hill turned up and started sending water down the hill. Which went into the stream and
totally clouled up the water. Which meant that Mike could not find his disc. And only after we were done with all of the holes did the water finally clear up enough to see the disc.

The good news was that I got two birdies! Which was enough for my team to win twice. Woo woo!

Adam starts to carry around a big stick in order to help rescue Mike’s disc at the end of the game.

Mike finally retreives his disc!

Course

Another round of Disc Golf. This time at Georgetown. And I didn’t have to drive! Doug volunteered to act as a bus for four of us since he was the southern most from the course. We had three teams of two. And of course, John’s team was in the lead. However, I still had fun.

Close

The highlight was this shot of mine that landed so close to the hole! When I threw it, I could not see the hole at all. I just winged it…

Course

Another round of Disc Golf. This time at Old Settlers Park. This is definately a different course than Cat Hollow. A much longer course. With less trees but with water hazzards. On the 16 hole, you have to throw over part of a lake! Doug tried to be safe and threw it towards land. I tried to go over but ended up in the water. Well, Mike was already down close to the lake retreiving his disc. And fortunately, he waded in and got my disc! Well, immediately after that, Doug threw his disc (he was borrowing mine) right into the lake! And luckily Mike waded after that one as well. After rescuing two of my discs, I offered to treat Mike to lunch. The sad thing was that after two more throws, I soon lost that disc that Mike saved. Into the one group of trees on this course. Sigh… Still fun…

disc golf

Another round of disc golf. This one was interesting because we first scheduled it for Old Settlers’ Park. We then changed the location to Cat Hollow. When I got there, I saw that the Hairy Man Festival was going on in the park next door. I parked a ways away to avoid the road closing. Fortunately, the others were not deterred and showed up as well. On the first hole, we spent a good twenty minutes trying to find my lost white disc. I had just about given up the search when Adam finally found it. Man these discs are hard to find!

I also rode my bike this morning in my usual route. I was passed by like a hundred bicyclers! Man my bike is slow. But I like it because I feel like I get some good excercise compared to a faster and easier to pedal bike.

disc golf

Now that the temperatures are more reasonable in the day, we played another round of disc golf. The morning low was 47 degrees so it was rather chilly. So I broke out some long clothes for my bike ride. I got back in time for a little rest before heading out to the course. It was beautiful out and the temperature was in the high seventies at the end of the game.
